PFP (Profile Picture)

In today’s world of social media, even people in their 60s are using the internet. Social media like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp have millions of users. When we use these social media apps, even Gmail for that matter we have to create an account to do so. To create an account one of the major things to do is to create a PFP. Now you must be wondering what a PFP is. It stands for “Profile picture”.

The identity of any account is made by its username and profile picture on social media. This is why having an authentic and real profile picture is important on social media. However, a lot of people prefer uploading pictures that are aesthetic, from movies and so on. Having a profile picture is all about making yourself appear as you please. If it is a personal account it can be your picture, your family picture or a picture with your partner. If you are a business then the profile picture is mostly a brand logo.

Examples –

“I wanted to do a shoot. My PFP anyways looks so old and needs changing.” Here the person is explaining how she wants to do a photo shoot to change her profile picture since it has been long since she changed it.

“We wanted to hire a new graphic designer to design a PFP for our business social media page.” Here a business team is talking about wanting to hire a graphic designer to create a profile picture for their social media pages.

“Your PFP looks dope.” In this case, a person is complementing the other person’s profile picture.

“This new PFP suits your profile so well.”

Next time you want to compliment someone’s profile picture just use this term instead of typing up the whole thing!
