Valid

Many times, we are in strong agreement with people or certain statements. Other times, we just want to show support to your friends, family and colleagues. We all want to feel seen and others feel the same need as well. To show our support and agreement, we can use this online slang called “Valid”. It is a versatile term and adds up to a lot of situations. We can use it for the above cases.

In addition, if you want to express acknowledgement of someone’s feelings, experiences and opinions, you can use this term. This term especially works well when the feelings, opinions or experiences resonate with that of yours. Discussions make this term a lot more usable. This can be used in a lot of contexts, formal or informal, whatever it may be. This is why the term is so versatile.

For example, if you think that someone’s beliefs and experiences match with yours, you can simply tell that they are valid. This will explain your agreement to them. It might seem a little off to term things or people as valid or invalid, but it is mostly in a light-hearted way.

Example –

“I think that a lot of things that she told are sensible. She’s just so valid sometimes.” Here a person is resonating with the views of someone else and is expressing it by using this social media term.

Person 1 – “Don’t you think that the assignments are just graded based on some parts of our capabilities and ignore the fact that some of us might be better in the practical field?”

Person 2 – “That’s Valid.”

Here a friend agrees with another friend and hence uses this social media term to show that they have understood and accepted the point of view of that friend. Makes answering so much easier since it carries so much weightage into how much it asserts on the agreement.
