These social media slang and abbreviations seem to be never-ending. But their usage and meanings are so much easier than how complicated they seem. Menty B is yet another social media slang that is used by the GenZs on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. It stands for ‘Mental Breakdown’. We all know what a mental breakdown is. A mental breakdown can be described as a nervous breakdown with intense mental distress and an inability to emotionally function in any daily life.
This situation is serious, however the slang mentioned above is used in a more lightweight manner. It is used to casually describe this experience or mention a time when someone might have had a mental breakdown. If someone is struggling with mental health issues, they use this term to seem light and not make the environment very heavy or serious.
Social media is a great way of communication and sharing our daily life routine. But sometimes it can really get mentally straining. This is why a lot of people are facing mental health challenges related to social media.
Examples –
