Put on blast

Social media is a great way to share our views and opinions. We can share many new views and stuff on the internet. But sometimes things can get really messy on Social media. People can misuse information and can put other people on blast. The phrase “Put On Blast” means exposing someone on the Internet or social media or publicly criticizing them on social media.

it is to be noted that exposing someone’s personal information publicly or shaming someone on social media is a crime and you can be reported for doing the same. Social media is supposed to be a safe space and it is all of our responsibility to keep it that way. Shaming someone on the internet can destroy their mental health and you can be sued for the same.

Sometimes, people also tend to expose certain influencers online. If some information in some posts is wrong, then some people tend to come at the person posting them. This isn’t necessarily wrong all the time if put forward in a respectful manner.

Example –

“She claims to be a cosmetologist and posts all false remedies online. All the followers could get affected from her advice, so I put on blast in her comments.” This is an example of how someone exposed a person in the comments because they thought they were sharing the wrong information.

“The teenagers these days are such bullies. My sister’s friends pretended to care about her then put on blast on social media about her. We had to report then in the school.” This is a classic example of how things can go wrong if not taken care of how you use the internet.

“She is content creator who promotes a lot of brands but her fans noted how she uses almost none of them. So they put on blast on her comments and her following was really affected by that.”
