Mid

We have all come across things on the internet that are just not up to the mark. Some of them get us less enthusiastic and some of them get us really impressed. Where does the slang ‘Mid’ stand in all this? It is used to describe something mediocre or average that has not much juice to it but is also not bad in particular.

Sometimes, there are a lot of things on the internet that are not worth the hype but people get so worked up over it. This is where we can use the above slang. Mid is used to indicate that something is not worth the hype and is just not as impressive as it is made to look.

For example, certain beauty products are always overhyped on the internet by beauty bloggers and influencers. But when actual customers start reviewing them, it starts to come to light that they are just not worth the hype and are just in the mid-range. This is how the above term is used on social media.

Examples –

Person 1 – “How are the new glosses by XYZ Beauty? I heard they are amazing.”

Person 2 – “No! I used them and they’re mid. Can’t say that they are amazing.”

Here we see how a product is being shown to be not impressive and this social media slang is used to describe that.

“I’ve heard that the new movies by Marvel are mid and not as good as they were before End-game.” In this example, a person is describing their opinion on Marvel movies and how they find the new movies by them.

“If you are planning to go shop in the Zara sale, then just know that all the good collection is already sold out. I went shopping yesterday and found everything there was mid.” In this case, the person is trying to say how the sale has boring clothes and all the good ones are already sold out.
