Social media is a place to communicate, share opinions and react to posts and videos. There are multiple reactions that can be made to posts, comments and stories on various social media platforms. Reactions on social media refer to the ways users can express their feelings or thoughts about a post, comment, or piece of content without writing a full comment. A reaction can express various feelings with just one click. This option is available on Facebook and Instagram.

Reaction on Facebook –

Following are some primary reactions seen on Facebook,

  1. Like 👍: The classic thumbs-up sign is the simplest way to show approval or enjoyment of a post.
  2. Love ❤️: Represented by a heart, this reaction shows a stronger positive emotion than a simple like, often used for things people find particularly touching or wonderful.
  3. Haha 😂: A laughing face, this reaction indicates that the content is funny or amusing.
  4. Wow 😮: A surprised face is used when something is astonishing, impressive, or unexpected.
  5. Sad 😢: A crying face, showing empathy or sorrow, often used for posts about unfortunate events or sad news.
  6. Angry 😡: A red, angry face, used to express displeasure or anger about the content of the post.

Reactions on Facebook story –

Stories are disappearing status updates on Facebook which are available for 24 hours. People who can view your stories can react to them using different reactions as mentioned above. Facebook offers a set of reactions which make reacting easier. To react to a story simply swipe up to the story and select from the reactions presented to you on the screen. You can also use stickers, Avatars and GIFs to react to stories on Facebook.

How to use reactions on Facebook –

  1. On Posts: Hover over or hold down the Like button on a post to see the different reaction options, then select the one that best represents your feelings.
  2. Over Comments: You can also react to comments in a similar way by holding down the Like button next to a comment.
  3. On Messenger: Reactions can be used within Facebook Messenger to respond to individual messages, providing a quick way to communicate your feelings in a conversation.

Reaction on Instagram –

Similar to Facebook, there are certain reactions that are available on Instagram. But unlike Facebook, these reactions can be used to react only on Instagram stories. These reactions include ❤️ Love,😂 Haha,😯 Wow,😢 Sad,👏 Clap,🎉 Party,🔥 Fire, Like 👍and more. These can be used to react to a person’s story in addition to the feature where one can like a story on Instagram. Additionally, people can also use Avatars on Instagram to react to stories. Reaction is a cool way of letting another person know how you feel about a certain post or story without having a long conversation.
