L stands for Loss. The meaning is the same as that of the actual word. It is used to indicate a loss or defeat or someone or something. It is most widely used by people for sports and games. In many cases, people use this term to indicate that someone has lost a game or match or when a team has lost a match. This term is used to describe that the final results of something has not been favourable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Last night our Football team had a big L. We were so close to winning. None of us expected the defeat.” Here the term is used to describe the loss of a football mean in a match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The company had a big L. Now they are shutting down after only two years of having started the Firm.” The example indicates that the company had a big loss and it is shutting down because of that. Here a setback or loss is shown, hence the slang can be used in cases like these. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We had a close call last night night. We had an L by one run in the cricket match.” Again, a loss is described in this case and the term loss is used in the internet slang form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If you don’t want to listen to your doctors then it’s your L.” Loss here is used to show that someone is losing something over their arrogance. This slang can also be used in this manner over text messages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
