This famous social media term has an origin from the African American Vernacular English. Usually, this phrase is used on social media like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok. It is a phrase that was used by the black community, which is now popularized worldwide and many people are using it over social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the fashion context – Example 1 – “The colour combination you’re wearing, it’s giving an aesthetic vibe.” Here the person is trying to describe that the outfit has a colour combination that gives aesthetic<\/a> vibes. Vibes are being described here. Example 2 – “It’s giving such a retro vibe.” Here the vibe is described as if they are matching that of the trends and styles of the mid-20th century. Example 3 -“It’s giving me fashion icon vibes.” In this case, the person is describing how something is giving them the vibe of a fashion icon. This is perfectly described by using the popular social media phrase. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Mood or Vibe – Example – “It’s giving such a calm vibe. I’ve never heard such a soothing song before.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. General impression – Example – “Her performance was giving Broadway star.” Here it is aimed to express that the actress’s performance was impressive and reminiscent of a Broadway star. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
