There are multiple languages on the internet and English is the most widely used. English as we all know is of two types – British English and American English. All these languages have their own slang that has various meanings. Innit is one such British slang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This term is not only used on Social media but is a very popular slang in real life as well. But the question is what does it mean? This term is a synonym of “Isn’t it?” and is used in the similar way isn’t it is used. It is commonly used at the end of sentences to seek agreement, a confirmation or used as a general statement tag. It is a British term that is often used in London and places around it. However, these days this term has found its way throughout the world and a lot of people use it in text messages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Examples –<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“The Dessert that we ate last night was so delicious, innit?” Here the person is expressing a liking towards a dessert they had eaten last night and is confirming the statement by using this term. Any form of statement confirmation can be expressed by using this term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Fashion these days is so overwhelming. People wear anything and call it fashion! innit?” In this case, a person has put forth a certain view and is asking for confirmation from the people he\/she is talking to. In this way, this term can be used to make it seem like the person is open for a discussion and is not pressing a point or his\/her point of view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a statement is said and the person wants to make sure that the other person is aware of it, then this term can be used. For instance, “The theme of the party next week is retro, innit?” Or “She’s allergic to peanuts, innit?”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
